About Us

King's Kids has been a licensed facility since 1989. Ms. Jan started this program as a 2 day Mother's Day Out program. She then expanded to a 3 morning Preschool in 1989. After a couple years, she saw the need for a Christian facility to care for children full time. King's Kids Child Care was opened in the summer of 1995.

Testimonials

Thank you for everything you do! From guiding and leading our children to a brighter future, to bandaging their BooBoos, wiping their runny noses, sharing an "ahha moment", to showing them how to share and develop relationships, broaden their horizons and making them feel Special. The list goes on and on! You and your staff are appreciated!

Honestly, the reason I chose King's Kids was convenience, but the reason I stay, is comfort. My kids have bee here going on 3 years and the safe, secure feeling I have with my kids here helps me to make it through my day. The teachers and staff make you feel like it is a home away from home.

The staff members at King's Kids have been absolutely wonderful to my three children (Megan, Luke and Chris). I can't fully express how happy and proud I am when my children relate messages to me that they learned from the Bible earlier in the day. It opens up family discussions about God's word and has made us closer as a family.

When we first came to King's Kids, my middle child was having trouble at his previous day care. You all were very patient with him, and helped him feel loved in his new environment. Over time his behavior has become much better, so thank you for helping. In addition, my kids all love going there each day. You do a wonderful job!

King's Kids is a fantastic Christian day care with a wonderful staff. I highly recommend them!

Finding childcare for your baby is one of the hardest things to do. We deciced to trust the care of our infant to King's Kids for several reasons: caring staff, location, cost and convenient hours.

That was over 5 years ago and while the location, cost and convenient hours still are important, more important is the awesome care surrounded with Christian Values that our daughter has received. It amazes us every day the wonderful things that she learns from the great teachers at King's Kids. Jan Shedlock. the owner of this Christian Child Care does a great job in listening to the parents and ensuring that the children receive great quality care. In our opinion, King's Kids is the perfect place for our daughter. We are looking forward to many more years there.

In 1998 we were transferred to the Houston area. When you move to a different part of the State and you don't know anyone it is hard to find the perfect daycare. At the time, Ben & Josh were 6 and my daughter Kasey had just turned 2. My husband had picked out the daycare that they children were to attend since I was too busy at work. Kasey and I cried every morning. Neither of us liked the new daycare and we wanted Mrs. Becky (babysitter from E. Texas) back and were ready to move home. Since that wasn't an option, we began shopping for a new daycare. The day that Josh came home and shared new words that he had learned at the other daycare…well let's just say we began seriously looking for a new daycare.

At King's Kids we found a Christian Daycare with Family Values. My children were not around other children who cussed or were allowed to hit. My Children were loved and well cared for and wanted to go to Daycare. Another important factor was that there was not constant turnover of employees. This allowed my children to bond and be reassured that everything would remain the same each day.

When my daughter was almost 4 she told me that you needed a key to get into Heaven. I asked her where she learned that and she said "teacher" at King's Kids said you needed a key to get into Heaven and asking Jesus into your heart was the key. I lucked into a daycare that not only took my children to Vacation Bible School but reinforced the lessons that they learned there. My youngest is now 13and is still recognized in the community as one who attended King's Kids. I hear stories still to this day how she didn't like to take naps and how they couldn't tell the twins apart. My children have been remembered and are a part of the community.

Jan has listened to my suggestions over the years. When my children wanted to go swimming during the summer, it was added as a field trip option. Games, snacks or even hot meals were added at our request also. The teachers were always able to tell me how my children were that day, how they felt, who they played with etc. This allowed me to feel like I was part of their day even though I was at work.

I have over the years referred others to King's Kids either for daycare or for those seeking employment. Now I have foster children and the youngest requires daycare. The State had asked that I move the youngest to another facility. When asked why I refused to move her I told them that King's Kids is consistent and they offer Family Values with a Christian Foundation. King's Kids was perfect for my children and that is where my Foster Daughter would be attending. When I asked the State for other options in the area for a Christian Daycare silence ensued and my Foster Daughter was allowed to stay.

King's Kids also offers safety for my Foster Daughter. There are custody issues at this time and the Director and Asst. Director have worked with us to ensure her safety. I have no worries when she is at Daycare. King's Kids has done nothing but improve its facilities and benefits in the ten plus years that I have been associated with them.

King's Kids will always be at the top of my referral list.
